DESAPARCIDOS (L)

Conor Oberst launched his side-project to Bright Eyes to deliver a more emo crunch and political punch. Named after the "disappeared ones" in Spanish and Portuguese and is a reference to the people who were arrested by various South American right-wing military dictatorships and then vanished without a trace. Their debut ep launched in 2001 with The Happiest Place on Earth on Saddle Creek, then their lp Read Music/Speak Spanish in 2002 delivered, touring with bands like The Promise Ring & Jimmy Eat World before they broke up as quickly as they arrived in their first flush.
